Education and religion together

Private school is typically looked at as a rich kids school. Someone who attends a Catholic school typically just wants a better education. Most of the time, students who receive a religious education are just looking for their religion to guide them through their lives.

Having religion with me was one of the best compliments to a great education. Praying in each class and having a prayer at a specific time everyday was the best feeling.

Catholic school for me offered a new experience because I went from middle school, the toughest years for many people, to a Catholic high school. I soon doubled the number of my friends. I changed the status of myself because as a person I grew up into a better person. Being in the same public school would have kept me with the same friend group for all my life until college. People constantly keep changing their personality, therefore friends from elementary school should change from the friends in high school or college.

As the friends change, so do the outfits. Catholic schools have uniforms that all of their students must wear if they attend. Typically, most students that attend these school like them. They wake up and throw on their uniform. They never need to worry about what they are going to wear each day because it's the same.

I have met one of the best teachers I have ever had in my entire life. She was my sophomore year theology teacher. Still to this day, as a freshman in college, I keep in contact with her and visit her frequently. This woman has change my life in so many ways. She has taught me to see the good in everything, and to be grateful for everything I have. She has taught me that I may not be perfect, but God will always love me as long as I try. As humans, we are going to make mistakes; we are not perfect, but if we try to walk in the same steps that Jesus did, we are making a mark in the world. If I could tell my teacher thank you a billion times, I would. I don't think she realizes how much she means to me.

Recently, she just retired and moved out of state. I will miss her more than anything. These are the reason I loved Catholic school. Catholic school was the best decision I have ever made in my life. I am blessed that my parents made this decision for me, and I am blessed to see the world in the perspective I do now.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
