You’re the only person who has to live with you forever.

Dear Me, Pritorize And Love Yourself Unaided

To the me who struggles now, your love of self should be fierce and unconditional. Life is short. The body in which you were born will be the one that dies with you. So, love it abundantly and with joy. Learn that there is a bold line between self-love and self-obsession. Self-obsession is self-awareness to the point of exclusion of everything that doesn't revolve around you.

Contrastly, self-love is an appreciation and mindfulness of who you are that aids you in surrounding yourself with what complements you and your growth.

There is assuredness and comfort within you when you love yourself.

Prioritize and love yourself and see the difference it makes in your growth as a person, in relationships and life in general. Truly find joy within yourself first without depending on something outside of you for completion or validation. Watch how this makes you all the more successful in pursuits of romantic, professional, and spiritual gratification.

Romantically, be able to offer someone your already complete self. Professionally, believe that you are capable, teachable, and ready for challenges. Spiritually, seek what brings you the most comfort even if no one else understands it.

Know within yourself that your journey is intimate and sacred only to you. No one will treat your body, mind, and spirit with the same amount of care as you, the possessor.

Know that you are deserving. You will only pursue happiness that you feel you deserve. You can't offer what joy you don't have. You can't appreciate beauty that you envy.

Appreciate who you are raw and uncut. Appreciate who you are when alone without pressures of conformity or influence. Know who you are and stand in it. Know why you shed tears. Laugh abundantly, loudly with your head thrown and eyes closed tight. Dear me, love yourself with your eyes wide open.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
