Many attend Electric Zoo in New York City for a weekend of fun. In the case of Sam Lassner, however, his visit to the music festival was a means of career-altering inspiration. Once a guitar-playing singer/songwriter, Lassner now channels his focus towards the production of electronic music. By taking his music to the dance floor, the artist has been able to amass millions of online streams and top iTunes and Spotify charts. So who exactly is Sam Lassner? He is none other than PRINCE FOX.

Before signing with Casablanca Records in 2015, PRINCE FOX repeatedly topped charts on Hype Machine with his remixes. A few of his most notable renditions include 3lau’s “How You Love Me” [feat. Bright Lights], Cazzette’s “Blind Heart,” and SNBRN’s “Raindrops” [feat. Kerli]. When he began writing and producing his own music, the artist took on a different angle: “The songs are structured in a traditional manner with verses and choruses, but they’re produced with an underground flavor—spanning everything that influences me from deep house, to future bass, to UK garage,” he explains. “What holds it all together is this old school focus on composition. I want to write songs that are more than just builds and drops.”

And they are. One of his latest, “Fragile” featuring the multiplatinum singer Hailee Steinfeld, encompasses the best of both worlds. The production makes us want to get up and dance while the track structure takes us back to traditional song. The Brooklyn artist’s influential songwriting roots have manifested themselves in “Oxygen” featuring Michelle Buzz and “I Don’t Want To Love You” featuring Melody Noel, both released within the past 12 months.

Having only been signed late last year, PRINCE FOX has already gotten us excited. While his style and featured artists have certainly added to our elation thus far, perhaps it’s the underlying message in his debut single “Wait Until Tomorrow” that is keeping us ever so eager. Bringing both fate and perseverance into question, PRINCE FOX reminds us that we’re all finding ways to get to our destinations. Well, let’s hope this new artist finds the fastest route to a new single because we’re eager to hear what he has in store for us next.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
