The Primary Election As Told By 'The West Wing'
HerCampus

The Primary Election for the Presidency of the United States of America seems like a never-ending stream of ridiculous candidates, irrelevant debates, and general absurdity. Living through and participating in the election is a whirlwind of emotion. But, nothing can sum up this experience better than everyone's favorite political drama: The West Wing.

At first, you are so excited for the upcoming election.

You have the power. You get to decide the nation’s future.

Then you see who is running to become the President of the United States of America.

Watching the debates only leaves you more confused.

Some of these candidates have to be running as a joke, right?

Then, the candidates start dropping like flies and the race becomes serious.

Of course, the ridiculous antics during the debates still occur.

But, you secretly love watching the candidates make fools of themselves.

That is until you remember you will have to vote for one of them.

And one of them will eventually run the country.

You start thinking about what would happen to the American people if a particular candidate actually won.

And you realize that the country is doomed.

But, you still choose the least detrimental candidate and stand by them.

You cast your ballot with pride.

And then you remember that the general election is still to come.

So, what’s next?

What's up Asshat,

I've composed a list of things that I wish upon you, and they're harsh and cruel. These things are things that I wouldn't wish upon my worst of enemies, not even that Starbuck's barista who always screws up my order, not even him. You fall into a whole other category of hate. You surpass Starbucks barista. Congratulations, I'm actually a pretty nice person, making you worthy of every single bit of torture I wish upon you. What are these things I wish upon you you might ask?
