Here's how to handle sins in disguise.

Every sin seems to bring some sort of pleasure until it doesn't. I want you to think of a time where a certain sin seemed like it was a good idea at the time. I know that there are a few times that I have done this. In reality, all sin has consequences whether you believe it or not.

Before I continue, I want to address that every sin is the same. There is not one sin bigger than another. In God's eyes, cheating is the equivalent to murdering someone. Every time we sin, it breaks God's heart even if it is just a tiny white lie.

Anyway, there are many times where we think it's okay to sin or we will justify it and say 'I've been good every other day'. In God's eyes, it doesn't count. Sin is so ugly soley because that is what separates us from God. Sin seems to be beautiful on the outside sometimes though. An example would be waiting until marriage to have sex but you justify it by saying 'I have been in this relationship with my girlfriend/boyfriend for two years now so I might as well just have sex now.' Or going to a party and drinking too much. Getting drunk seems like it would be a good idea right? Not exactly. It promises a lot of pleasure but whenever you become sober again, reality was just the way you left it, you feel a little worse than before, and by making that decision, you pushed God away by disobeying Him.

The first example of sin and its consequences is in the very first book of the bible. You may have heard of Adam and Eve in the garden? Whenever God created them and placed them in the garden, He told them that they were allowed to eat off of every tree except one. That one tree had beautiful, red apples on it. Adam and Eve were chilling in the garden whenever a snake appeared and tempted them to eat the apple. So, they gave in and ate the apple even when God said not to. What happened next? It disappointed God and then He kicked them out of the garden of Eden for disobeying Him. To Adam and Eve, it seemed like a good idea. Their sin was a shiny, red apple. What is your sin disguised as?

Sin only leads to death. It says in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Sin seems so beautiful and pleasurable but it can never have a positive or good outcome. Just like Satan (Lucifer) before he became Satan. When God created Lucifer, He created him as an angel. God made him to be so beautiful but look how he ended up. After his fall, he ended up as Satan. God made this angel with the intentions of being so beautiful but in the end, he ended up being removed from the presence of God. This is what happens whenever we sin. It seems so great at first but promises death in the end. It pushes us further away from God which is obviously not what we want.

Sin is not worth it. The consequences outweigh the pleasure by far. If you draw near to God, you will experience the best pleasure you could ever possibly have. Sin leads to Hell but by the grace of God, drawing near to Him and letting him have your life leads to Heaven.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
