11 Questions We Still Have About 'Pretty Little Liars'

It's finally over. We know who Uber A is. We are given connections and answers to many burning questions we've had throughout the series. But, as with every series finale these days, some of us, like me, are left a bit disappointed. Granted, I highly enjoyed the twists and watching them fill so many plot holes. However, this pathway of dirty little secrets still looks like it's been through multiple torrential downpours.

I have so many questions that still have yet to be answered! I was so hoping for

Beware, lovelies, spoilers abound beneath this line.

1. Why was Noel Kahn in the Dollhouse torturing supposedly only Spencer? And, why was Noel helping Jenna and Sara in season 7a?

What were his motives this time? Other than hating Alison for blackmailing him, that is. What did Charlotte have on him to make him torture the girls? How did he get there?

After the time jump, we see him again. Were he and Jenna still romantically involved leading him to wanting to help her, just like when they were dating in high school? Was he also friends with Charlotte or knew any of the UK A-Gang?

2. Why didn't Charlotte seek Spencer out as her true sister?

She specifically sought out Alison, even after she found out the truth of her own parentage. They're both her sisters (half and adoptive, respectfully) and Charlotte knew of Spencer as soon as she reunited with Alex, obviously- they are identical twins, after all. However, she continued to think of Spencer as one of her dolls and used Alison as a ticket out of the new sanitarium.

3. Why didn't Charlotte want the twins to meet?

You'd think she would enjoy playing with two identical dolls, right? Or she could have tried to turn Spencer to the dark side before she was able to ask her father and adoptive mother the truth. Charlotte and Alex could be pretty persuasive on their own, I would have loved to see their scheming ways as a team against the liars in the last season, but we never get to because Charlotte wouldn’t let Alex in Rosewood.

4. Was Jessica the evil twin for locking her sister up in Radley when they were teenagers and controlling her twin’s entire life? Or was Mary the evil twin that spawned two-out-of-three crazy and evil children?

I never really got the sense that either was right or wrong. Both do equally evil things, while caring very deeply for their children. Each hates the other with the same amount of passion. But, honestly, I feel that Jessica was the more evil of the two. While she raised Charles/Charlotte with the true love of a mother up until Charlotte’s mistake in hitting Ali over the head instead of Bethany. But, the way she treated her own twin sister was awful. Jessica essentially stole her sister's son to raise for her own, never letting Mary know how Charles was doing or that he "died". She locked Mary up in Radley for something she herself did (neglecting a poor baby to death while watching him).

5. The ages and timelines of the Liars' older siblings and their friends is thoroughly confusing.

Sure, not really a question. But, like, seriously? Has anyone else noticed this crazy plot hole? Charlotte is supposed to be about the same age as Jason and his friends, right? It's stated that Officer Wilden, one of the major antagonists of the series, is close to the same age. I would imagine no older than 1 or 2 years more than Jason's crew. So, tell me how Officer Wilden could cover up Marion Cavanaugh's murder if he's only about 15 or 16?

And how much older than the Liars are they all, really? Melissa, Jason, Ian, and Garrett supposedly graduated high school only two years before the first season takes place, yet Melissa is finishing her Master's Degree and engaged to Wren (who can't be much older than her) who is about to graduate medical school, then suddenly is a full-fledged doctor in the next season that takes place directly after the first. What's going on here? What are these amazing schools that fast track you and how do I apply?

Also- the girls were in their Senior Year of high school when Ali returned to them. Most high school seniors are 17 years old for at least most of the year. Wren is supposed to have met Alex earlier this year, probably in the Fall or Winter due to the heavy rain they depicted happening on that fateful night. She’s bar-tending, but in the UK, you have to be 18 in order to drink, right?

6. How did Sara Harvey even come into the story in the first place?

Yeah, she ran away from home. She was the Ali of another, nearby town. That's all we really know of her and then we meet her in the dollhouse. All we learn of her during that time jump is that she worked for Charlotte, doing a lot of the dirty work and donning the Red Coat and Black Widow's veil.

But, WHY?! Did Charlotte really kidnap her and inflict Stockholm Syndrome like Sara seems to have claimed? Or was Charlotte paying her some crazy amount of money and/or giving Sara a "safe" place to stay? Sara did not know the girls, so what is her motive for helping Charlotte torture them?

7. Why wasn't Mike present during the future jump?

I personally wanted Mike and Mona to end up happily ever after. They were so sweet to each other and it rocked how they could just be themselves. Yes, he’s away at college, but why wouldn’t he come home for his parents’ or sister’s weddings? I feel that this is highly out of character for Mike to have missed Aria’s wedding to Ezra. I kind of understood his animosity towards his parents getting remarried to one another, but at the same time we would hope that Mike had matured a bit and felt happier about them finally reuniting.

(Yes, I know they couldn't get the actor back for the show, but they could have wrapped that part up a little better, I think).

8. Why did Ian commit suicide?

Ian really did commit suicide. He just never left a note. That was staged by Mona, so says I. Marlene King. But, why? He was married to Melissa and expecting a daughter. Yes, he almost killed Spencer and knew he could be framed for Alison's "death", but was there any other motive to his suicide?

9. Did Peter Hastings ever learn about Alex?

I’d certainly want to know if I had spawned a third child out of wedlock, wouldn’t you? I wonder if Spencer ever told her family of what happened.

10. Wouldn’t Spencer notice if her biological mother and twin sister were never actually arrested?

There would have been a trial before they were sentenced to prison, so wouldn’t Spencer notice if she was never called as the prime witness/victim of Alex’s crimes? She had been the one to hear Alex confess to killing Wren, so she should have been called to testify against at least Alex. It may have looked like they were arrested in the finale, but the second-to-last scene shows that Mona has both Mary Drake and Alex Drake locked up in her own Parisian Dollhouse, for she is the true winner of the game and has collected her prize for her own. Personally, I hope the elusive spin-off is about Mona, not a rewind to the new group of girls rallied by the terrible Addison.

11. How did the moms escape the basement all those years ago?!

They almost answered us. ALMOST!
The moms all together, drinking or already drunk are some of my favorite scenes, to be honest. I just really need to know what they did to get out and how long they were down there for.
