Preparing for Senior Year As Told By 'Scrubs'

You have just finished your junior year of college. Your years of irresponsibility and all nighters are running out. Soon you'll be purchasing your graduation cap and revamping your resume. But before you do that you should do a few things during your senior year that you'll never be able to do in college again.

1. Stay In

We have this idea that we can't have a good college experience without going out constantly and getting wasted in a Frat basement. But I challenge you to have a sober night in with a few good friends, not your whole sorority or your entire english class, just a night in with your people, get to know each other without having to get to the bottom of the bottle.

2. Say Yes to Spontaneity

If your friend texts you at four in the morning asking to get Wendy's go get Wendy's. Don't worry about your weight, or the sleep you're gonna miss. Don't worry about that assignment you should get done and just go, life isn't supposed to be so scheduled. Break your regime and get out and LIVE!

3. Go Out!

You can't enjoy staying in without going out, wether it's a frat basement, a bar, a city, a beach, GO OUT! Get the experience of crying with strange girls in a bathroom, dancing even though you can't, and singing way too loudly to that throw back you somehow still know the words too.

4. Go For It.

We all have that one guy or girl we're scared to text or get to know. We constantly worry about what people will think of us or how they will react to us making the first move. DO IT! Go for it! What have you got to lose? You'll be out of here in a year.

5. Worry less about your Grades

You grades are important, very important, but they do not define your college experience. These are the years to find yourself, not lose yourself in a textbook trying to be the top of your class. It's senior year anyway, you made it this far.

6. Make up with that friend you had a falling out with

She was probably wrong and you were probably right but that doesn't mean 5 years from now you're going to be holding a grudge against someone who might not even think twice about you. Be a good person and go make up before you go your separate ways.

7. Let Go Of Toxic People

You don't have time anymore to hang onto people who do nothing but bring you down. You have to spend what little time you have left with people who are going to lift you up. Wasting your time trying to get everyone to like you isn't how you want to remember your senior year of college.

8. Say "Who cares?" more often

Stop worrying what grade you're gonna get on that paper because you can't control it. Don't worry about that boy who won't text you back. Who cares about that girl who hates you? Who cares!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
