So you're done with your first, second, third, or eighth semester in college, and it's time to reveal your final grade. If you didn't get that 4.0 you'd hoped for, it's okay. Just remember these things:
1. It's not the end of the world.
No matter how bad it may seem, it's not over. College is tougher than high school, not only by balancing your new schedule, but the classes also push students to succeed or to quit.
2. GPA's are important, but it's not everything.
Yes, it is important to maintain a good GPA; however, businesses care about the degree you get out of your college career, not necessarily the GPA.
3. Take this experience in order to prepare for next time.
Let's face it. It sucks; but you still have a ways to go. If you let this one semester define you as a student and as a person, then you're in for a rough ride. Take this experience and let it help you plan out your next semester and classes.
4. Get. More. Organized.
Organizing your life may seem tedious, but it can be so helpful and result in a happier semester. Getting a planner, a calendar, and some colored high lighters can make a big difference, especially if you plan out study times and places in advance.
5. Make sure to make time for you.
The worse thing you can do during finals week is to be super stressed and do nothing but study. Making time for yourself is important. So remember to take breaks, go eat a PROPER meal, watch a movie, etc. Do something to help you relax, and then go back to studying.
6. Actually be prepared for the Exam.
Notes in class, the textbook, friends, slides, and a cheat sheet that is allowed on the test are all ways to better prepare for finals week, but preparing for finals week starts on the first day of class. Take good notes, make friends, and highlight important parts of the lecture. That will save time on an cumulative final.
