Getting prepared for a new semester or even a new school year is very important. Not only do we start new classes with new expectations, but we also start to get new material thrown at us that must be obtained. Without organization, it can be hard to achieve important grade goals. Not only do you need to stay organized, but stay relaxed too. Stress will do you more harm than good when it comes to the new semester. So these are some helpful tips to making this a prepared and organized semester or new school year.

1. Make sure you're aware of the books you need to eventually invest in.

None of us are new to the fact college books are expensive, so be conscious about how much you may need to save for them a head of time, also make sure to get them in a timely manner. A great money saving websites for books is called Chegg. Just search the book you need and you can buy or rent for amount 1/3 the price, and access codes instead of physical books are the way to go.

2. Choose your class schedule wisely.

If you're someone that works like me and has to include this on her school schedule, make sure you're letting your employers know of semester avaliability at least a month in advance and also making sure it leaves you extra time during the semester to complete homework or even just have time for fun.

3. Keep a calendar.

It may sound cheesy but these work, whether it be an electronic one or physical one, keep track of work, school assignment due dates or even just times you'll be on campus.

4. Know your Professor's office hours and email.

Keep in touch with your Professor by email with important questions and take advantage of office hours if needed. A good professor will notice this extra effort and know you're doing your best.

5. Clean your room and study area.

Yes, this is at home and yes, it can be a struggle but making a clean environment at home or In your dorm clears your mind and therefore helps you do better.

6. Buy necessary supplies and get rid of un-needed old papers.

Buy supplies you know you will need at a good price, and also go through last semesters work and utilize anything salvageable like folders, binder, writing utensils, etc.

7. Know your exam dates.

This is especially important for online classes, so you can prepare and also have it off from work or other activities.

8. Put aside a day for just homework, split your time.

You may have weekly assignments or daily, but make sure you dedicate a little time a daily or every few days to get that work due, then you can have fun and do other things you want to do without lacking on homework.

9. Get involved.

Maybe join a club, a sport or create one, it can help destress and also bring out your creative side!

Thanksgiving Break is most likely everyone’s favorite break during the fall semester. You get to go home and reminisce with all your high school friends.
