At college, we think and act like every test is going to determine the rest of our lives. The truth is, we usually prove ourselves wrong about failing, and even if we do fail one test, it doesn’t actually alter our lives or our GPAs. In five years, A+ or F, we won’t even remember the test at all.
Either way, whether it makes us feel better to relieve our stress or we just can’t help ourselves, these pre-test thoughts and feelings of anxiety are unfortunate, but inevitable.
- Oh my god.
- I’m going to fail.
- I’m literally going to get an F on this test.
- I’m going to fail this class.
- I forgot everything.
- I’m so scared.
- This is going to look so bad on my transcript.
- I’m never going to get a job.
- I’m going to fail.
- I should just say I’m really sick and leave.
- What if I fail?
- Will I be able to get extra credit?
- I didn’t get enough sleep for this.
- I need more coffee.
- I feel sick.
- I’m going to fail.
- Wait, let me look at my notes one last time.
- What if my pencil breaks?
- Is there a pencil sharpener?
- Wait, I don’t have an eraser.
- I FORGOT MY CALCULATOR.
- Oh wait, no, this is a history exam.
- So where’s my eraser?
- Will my professor judge me if I do badly?
- Technically it’s my prof's fault if I suck at this.
- Why don’t I get to give my prof a grade?
- Wait, I forgot everything I studied.
- Hey, it’s not fair that the people in the first row get an extra 30 seconds.
- I’m going to fail.
- I hate my life.
- Do I need to know dates for this test?
- I’m going to fail.
Good luck on your next test, people! Study hard, panic harder.
