An Open Letter To The Husband I'm Praying For

I hope you have been praying for me as I have for you.

Maybe I am not so far off from finding you, or maybe you are a million miles away at this point in time. Either way, I cannot wait to meet you. Or maybe I know you, but have no clue what you will mean to me one day. Every girl always dreams and fantasizes about the day she will find her perfect man, and I cannot wait to sit back one day and connect it all to you. You better know that I waited a long time for you, but I am glad you took your time in finding me. I did not have the easiest path leading to you. There have been upsets, failures, heartaches, and wasted time from every relationship before you. I cannot wait to leave those all in the past and start something fresh with you in my future as my forever.

But just know what I have been through has made me a better, more loving woman for you. I have learned to put aside difference and communicate like adults from an ex who constantly was condescending or constantly yelling. I have learned to not automatically jump to conclusions after numbers of times crying assuming the worst when really everything was fine. I have learned to listen instead of talking over men like I did sometimes in the past. While there were many other things I have learned, the lessons along the way were to prepare me for you. I am sure you learned some lessons on your rough and beaten path to me as well, and I will be interested to hear about them.

I hope you have been praying for me all these years like I have for you. I also know my family has been praying for you as well, so do not let them down. I cannot wait to have a healthy, lasting relationship with you once our paths cross.

Until then, I will be praying.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
