How To Pray For Your Future Husband

Praying for your future husband not only prepares your future husband's heart and soul for what is to come, but it also prepares yours to receive his. Praying for my future husband helped me become content with being single while I was. It helped me not only know what I’m looking for in a man of God, but it helped me know what kind of woman I wanted to be for that man. It is so humbling to pray for another person, especially for someone you haven't even met yet. It only makes sense to pray to the One who is the source of true love for your future husband, your true love. When you begin praying for your future husband, don't forget to pray for...

His heart

Pray that God may open up his heart to love and not only to love, but to love deeply, unconditionally, and passionately. Pray that his relationship with God is strengthened daily and that the Lord will reveal Himself to him in ways unimaginable. Pray that his heart be guarded with the Lord's love and peace. Pray that any of his past heartaches be healed and that he will be able to open his heart again for love when the time is right. Pray that his heart remain content and patient through waiting for you, his future wife.

His mind

Pray that the Lord guide and protect his mind so that it would be strong enough to fight temptations. Pray that he will surrender himself to the Lord so that if any parts of his character that need to be converted, he will allow God to change him into the man he was created to be. Pray that the Holy Spirit help him on the path to righteousness and always comfort him. Pray that his mind never be taken over by depression or uncertainty and that his mind remain focused on the Lord’s will.

His family

Pray that his family not only guides him to make good choices but, that they are supportive of his endeavors so that he can be all that he hopes to be. Pray that the Lord always watches over his family. Pray that his parents are loving and caring so that they can teach him to always be loving and caring towards you and others. Pray that he understands how to have healthy boundaries with his family. Pray that he learns how to be a good, loving father by the example of his own father and that he sees and learns healthy ways to love from the example of his family.

His purpose

Pray that he knows and understands why he was created and that he always has a reason to live. Pray he is passionate about what he does and that he is always trying to learn more skills and wisdom to grow as a man of God. Pray that he is drawn away from insecurities and depression so that he may have hope for his future marriage. Pray that God helps him understand the purpose and importance of marriage and the role he will have as your husband.

While waiting for your future marriage, praying for your future husband will allow you to cherish yourself while preparing both you and your future husband’s heart for marriage. Philippians 4:6 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.“ Taking the time to talk to God about the hopes and dreams you have for your future marriage can greatly impact your life as well as your present and future relationships.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
