Prayers For The New Year

The New Year can be so scary and unknown all we can do is pray and stand firm in the promises God gives us.

"You crown the year with Your goodness and Your paths drip with abundance" -Psalms 65:17

In the final few days of 2016 I can not help but reflect on this past year, and the many challenges it has brought. I am in awe with the love and grace that the Lord has poured into my life this past year. Although I will forever look at 2016 as the most trying year of my life so far, I will always rejoice and be grateful in the strength it has given me and the lessons it has taught me. New Years is my favorite holiday because it forces us to stop and reflect. We are able to see the works of the Father and all the blessings He has put on our lives. No matter how amazing or how hard the past year was, after midnight that book closes and is forever just a memory. As we step into the unknown of 2017, all we can do is pray and ask God to bless our lives and our hearts so we can do His work this year.

Pray For Protection

As we go into the next year we don't know what we will face, but we know that the maker of this universe is standing guarding and protecting us. Begin to pray for the Lord's hand of protection over you, your family, and your church through this new season. We are His beloved children, he wants nothing more than to Ben our protector. Ask for a hedge of protection over your heart and mind. Through this proclaim that the enemy has no power in your life.

Pray For Wisdom And Strength

James 3:17 says, "But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere." Wisdom is such an important part in growing in your faith. Wisdom does not come with age but straight from heaven. Pray for wisdom in all areas of your life, to be humbled and used to further the Kingdom of God. Ask for the strength to be able to accomplish all the Lord has for you this year. Pray for an ever lasting fire in your heart that will never burn out.

Pray For Growth

We are always growing and changing, but we should strive to grow with the Lord by our side. Pray for the spirit to guide you through this next chapter of your life. Grow in your faith and the ability to stand firm in what the Lord calls you to do. Pray for a strong foundation to grow upon. The fruits of the spirit is the perfect foundation. As the Lord is preparing to help you grow in this.

Pray For A Refreshed Heart

The Lord should give us a new and refreshed heart daily, but as we prepare for a new year ask the God to give you a new heart that desires Him completely. Refresh our Hearts to serve Him and others this year. Let this year be a year of unending joy that can only come from the Lord. I believe the Father gives us each a heart for something, wheather it is ministry or singing, and it is so easy to be burned out and take that passion for granted. Pray for a new love for every part of your life.

Pray For Hope

Hope is what keeps us going. We need hope that this year will be better than the last. Ask the Lord to be your hope this year and to guide us through that to a stronger faith.

No matter how scary the unknown of 2017 is, we know that God's will is going to be done no matter. The Lord has never failed us before so why do we think He will start now! Praying and standing strong in His promises is all we can do. I pray a blessing over everyone through 2017.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
