Prayers For You During Finals
FAQ How

Whether in College or High School, finals, exams, and projects are looming over our heads. It can be stressful, tough, tiring, crazy, and hectic, but it will all end one way or another (sorry, probably not helping). Below you will find the motivation and comic relief you need to push through and persevere. Finals are just another sign of CHRISTMAS!! BE JOLLY YA'LL!

1.) Prayer for Strength

I pray you will find strength during the late nights, the study group sessions, and the 10th cup of coffee waiting to be downed in 10 seconds flat. I pray you push through the waist deep procrastination and GET STUFF DONE. May your patience be strong when trying to tolerate the smarty pants in the study group. May you find strength to keep your eyes open during the wee hours of the night. May the Lord give you copious amounts of energy to make it through the next few weeks. I pray you become stronger within each subject you are studying for and that you will get swole with knowledge. I hope that the stress of the impending doom does not settle upon you and make you weak, but that you overcome it with the strength of the Lord. YOU. GOT. THIS.

2.) Prayer for Joy

I pray you find joy when the tears of anxiety and stress start to drown you. I pray you find laughter in everything from the fact you feel like you're going to fail or the fact that you still haven't studied for the test you have the next day. I pray you can be happy with your grades and find extreme joy when they're over. May you find joy in each cup of coffee, in each notecard memorized, and in each subject accomplished. May God give you joy through the upsetting moments, the empty coffee cup, the hard questions, and the tough subjects. Remember laughter is the best medicine, so don't be afraid to just drown yourself in happy tears.

3.) Prayer for Favor

I pray that those test questions will be everything you studied for. I pray that when you get the test you hear angels singing because it will be easier that you thought. May God grant you with the time and motivation to tackle each subject and study guide. May you have the favor of the Lord when talking with the teacher about what you should study for and while studying with your friends. May you find favor with everyone else these next couple of weeks who have to deal with the tired, grumpy, sleep-deprived, loopy studied out student. May you find favor with all of the stress and emotional calories you have and will consume. Lord, let your favor fall on us now!

4.) Prayer for Peace

I pray you find peace with yourself, your professors, your friends, and your test scores. May you remain calm and tranquil while it seems the whole world is burning around you. I pray that you are okay with the amount of time you yourself choose to wait to study fo the upcoming exam. I pray as you sit in your chair, the test staring you straight in the face, you know it will all be okay. I prayGod gives you peace when you realize your exam is actually comprehensive. I pray that the Lord gives you peace when everyone else around you is in no way sane or calm. May peace be with you, my friends.

IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS GUYS. HANG IN THERE. YOU AN DO IT. PRAYERS FOR ALL.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
