Prayer Is A MUST
Trinity Coots

Do you always hear from other believers, "Just pray about it"? Or "Have you prayed about it as much as you think about it"?

Y'all this statement has so much truth, in the Bible it says "Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6-7) I don't know about you but this verse right here is so comforting. Do not take all your burdens upon yourself, give them all to Jesus, at the moment you realize how powerful God is, you will be blown away. You just need to: Give it all to God, don't worry, and just trust.

1. Giving it all to God

This can be difficult if you do not have a personal relationship with him, with having a personal relationship you feel the utmost amount of comfort and care. We were not put on earth to do life alone, God our father is always there for you, and will never let you down. If you are not giving all your trust to God you are not living the life that is honoring unto Him!

2. Don't worry

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you.Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." (John 14:27) When you are at the point that you give all your anxieties, and troubles to God, this will be between you and him, this is such an amazing thing because God already knows what you are going through, when you are able to express your feeling to God it makes you fully recognize what you are going through but it also gives God confirmation that you trust his authority.

3. Just Trust

Trusting God with your prayers can be very difficult, because God is going to make happen what will be best for the whole situation, in response you may be very pleased with the outcome or you may become very confused; sometimes what you have prayed and how it was answered is not what you wanted. Coming to an understanding why God answered your prayer the exact way he did is important because through the answered prayer will come great joy. Understanding trust in Jesus is very important a few verses that will hit the "Trust God" on the head are Psalm 62:8, Proverbs 3:5, Isaiah 12:2. In Psalms 62:8 "Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge." Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding." Isaiah 12:2 "“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.

What has inspired me to write this post about Trusting God with your difficult times and situations, is a situation I had personally gone through last March and into April, I am a college student, very friendly and caring towards all, but caring and friendly in a guy's eyes isn't always the same as a woman sees it. I had been struggling earlier on in the semester about not feeling like I had a connection with a guy friend, in reality, this is the way God wanted it, but I took it upon myself and started hanging out with friends that were not bearing the fruit of Christ, and had a huge influence on me, through all of the influence, I was at E-Woman's conference in Tulsa OK, and I was able to just reflect how I have been living (not) for Christ by the influence I had picked up on. So the whole next week I was praying to God telling him to take whatever out of my life that is pulling my focus away from the relationship between him and I. I'm telling you God must have really wanted this person taken out of my life, not even a week later God had fulfilled my prayer. Was it the answer I wanted? No! Not at all. But, through this whole situation, the amount of knowledge and confirmation that I have received is amazing. As a daughter of Christ, I want to love my father as much as I can. But when I was tied up in this situation I was putting God aside and putting my "worldly pleasure" as number one. It is very sad that it took something like this to fully realize that I can put all my trust in God, and if I don't I will take on the worldly pleasure and have regrets that just keep the baggage piling up! It is almost a year later and I still struggle with this situation at certain times. I can honestly say that my relationship with Christ has quadrupled since I fully gave all my trust to him. Through trusting God fully life is a lot less worrisome and so much more enjoyable.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
