My Prayer As I Head Back To College
Sarah Sistrunk

Dear Lord,

I pray that this will be a great year; please bless it. Thank you for an awesome summer and the time to relax. The experiences I had this summer were amazing and the time back at home with the people I love was much needed. Thank you for the opportunity I have to go to college and get a good education, for I know that many people would love for this opportunity You have given me. Thank you for my college in particular, thank you for making me feel so at home there.

I pray for safety as my friends and I drive back to school and move in. Please be with my family as they say goodbye to me, I know it's hard on them. Keep them safe this year while they are at home. Please let them know how much I love them and miss them. Lord, be with my friends at other schools. I miss them so much when we are apart, but I know You have big plans for them. I pray that their new friends will be encouraging and build them up. Please let their new friends be there for them when I am unable to be.

I pray for my teachers this year and let them teach me to the best of their abilities. Please give me energy to do my best in each class, even my eight a.m. Help me retain all the knowledge I gain in each lecture and lab so that I will be able to become the best I can be at my future job. I pray for guidance on each test and exam, and give me perseverance during late night study sessions and last minute projects. Help me to never give up even when I am convinced that I can't pass a class. Thank you for all my classes, teachers, and classmates; I know You designed each class and everyone is in that class for a reason.

I pray for all my college friends and all the new friends I will make this year. Thank you for the friends You blessed me with last year, they made my first year of college unforgettable. I missed them over summer and am so excited to be reunited. Please bless their classes and experiences this year. I pray that I will be an encouragement in their lives and them in mine. Thank you for all the new people You will bring into my life this year as well. Help our friendships to be fun, open, and supportive. I am so excited for all the late nights, car jams, and uncontrollable laugher that I know will come out of these friendships. Thank you for everyone you have placed into my life and I pray that I touch their lives as much as much as they have touched mine.

I pray for lively and exciting experiences this year. Please keep me safe as I go out with friends and travel on days off. Help me live everyday to the fullest and let me never turn down a good time. I can't wait for all the adventures that this new year holds for me and I thank you for them.

In Jesus Name,

Amen
