A Prayer For My Future Partner

"Enjoy life with the one whom you love all the days of your fleeting life which He has given to you under the sun; for this is your reward in life and in your toil in which you have labored under the sun." -Ecclesiastes 9:9

Lord, this is my prayer for my future partner:

First and foremost, I pray that they know you, Lord.

That they not only know your Word, but live it out everyday.

I pray that he is willing to follow Christ first and foremost.

I pray that he can be a man who doesn't fall for the temptations of this world, but for what your Word says.

Send me someone who will show me off and won’t kick me under the table for speaking my mind.

I pray that he is forgiving and knows when to apologize.

I pray he is a protector and makes me feel safe.

I pray he has a sense of humor and loves to laugh.

I pray that he will be a hard worker.

I pray that his faith and love will never falter when things get hard.

Lord, please give him loving friends and family to surround him with so that he never feels alone.

I pray that he is a good, reliable friend to others.

Lord, send me someone who accepts how often I cry.

I pray he is patient.

I pray that he wants to grow together spiritually.

I pray that he challenges me to be a better person.

I pray that when he is faced with a battle he takes it to you first Lord.

I pray for his leadership qualities, that one day he will be a strong head of the household.

I pray that he will be a good father our children can look up to and is a faithful husband to me.

Send me someone who will never stop loving me.

I pray that he is an honest man and wouldn’t keep anything from me.

While I wait for the man you have set aside for me, I pray that with time I become a woman deserving of such a man.

Lord, this is my prayer for myself:

Help me to strengthen my relationship with you, Lord.

I want to be a Proverbs 31 woman.

Teach me to celebrate my flaws.

Help me to develop and maintain lifelong friendships.

Make me more independent.

Help me to be more optimistic and less pessimistic.

Teach me to listen before I speak.

Help me to be kind to everyone, even those undeserving of kindness.

Make me slow to anger and quick to forgive.

Help me to focus less on outer beauty and more on inner beauty.

Help me to realize I don’t always need control.

Make me into a woman my parents will proud of.

Help me to always remember your plan is bigger and better than mine.

Grant me patience until your perfect timing.

Until then, help me to stop looking for love in human form and look to you, Lord.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
