Even though I do not know who you are at this moment, I always make it a priority to mention you in my prayers.

I pray that you have a good mentor in your life to help you on your path to Christ. I pray that your mentor teaches you wonderful things so that later on down the road you will be able to mentor other people. I pray that you are a good friend to others. I pray that you will be the friend that they need in times of trials and tribulations. I pray that you will bring not only me closer to Christ, but that you will evangelize and bring souls to Christ. I pray that you are able to be in the right group of friends who lead you to Christ instead of away from Him.

I pray that you will be a hard worker. I pray that with every decision you make you ask yourself if it will please God. I pray that you work hard to bring glory to God and to help make him known. I pray that you are able to avoid temptations that come your way and are able to turn to God when you do not know what to do. I pray that you are able to make the choice to stand up for what is right in this world and help make a difference.

I pray that in hard times you know that you are never alone in this world. I pray that you know God is with you and will always be. I pray that whenever you are feeling down you seek out to Him for comfort. I pray that you also know you have family and friends who support you no matter what. I pray that you know you can always talk to me about anything. I pray that we will never keep things from each other and are always honest with one another.

I pray you never lose sight of who you truly are. I pray that you never lose sight of God. I pray that you always keep praying even when times get tough. I pray that you are able to give all of your worries to God and let Him take care of the situation. I pray you never forget that God is always with you through all the good times and bad. I pray when something goes wrong that you do not blame God, but know that His plan is far greater than yours.

I pray that you have a caring heart. I pray that your heart is filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I pray that you show good leadership to our family. I pray that your heart is able to teach our children about Christ as well as help me grow closer to Him. I pray that you always put Christ first before me. I pray that you love Him more than me. I pray that our children will be able to look up to you and your love for Christ. I pray that you become not only a loving father for your children, but also a faithful husband to me.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
