A Prayer for Extra Time

When you need that extra second, minute, or hour.

A Prayer for Extra Time

Time is the most fragile thing we are given on this earth. Time to love. Time to learn. Time to give and be given. Time to fight. Time to forgive. Time to make memories with the ones you love. Time to listen. Time to appreciate.

Sometimes we aren't given enough time. We lose the ones we love too soon. We fail that test because we didn't have enough time to study. We lose a relationship because we don't have enough time to invest. No matter what, we are never granted enough time.

So God, whoever you may be,

Please grant us that extra second, minute, hour, or day to say I love you just one more time. Give us that hour to forgive the ones you love before it's too late. Give us that second to swerve from that dog in the road to save another person's heartache. Give us that extra minute to give life saving advice to a friend in need. Give us that second to decide if what we are about to do is the right choice. Give us the time to figure out who we really are. Give us the hour to give ourselves a mental break. Give us the extra 30 minutes to study for a test that will determine our college career. Give us the 5 minutes to say goodbye for the last time. Give us the time to appreciate everything and everyone we have in our lives because at the end of the day time is something we are not guaranteed.

Whether its a second, minute, or hour, any amount of time is precious. We take time for granted and forget that it is a gift not a privilege. So with every extra second you're given in this life, remember that you were given it for a reason so make the most out of it.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
