The votes have been counted and Trump is the winner. Yes, this is real life. I will not write this to tell you who I voted for. I will not express my beliefs in the election or criticize others. Instead, I will pray for you, whoever you are. For our country, for our government, for our citizens. Whether we have the same beliefs or not, I ask that you show grace towards mine, and show faith in yours.
I pray, Lord, that You keep our country in your arms. That you guide our leaders to do not what is easy, but what is right. To guide our new president to be wise. Lord, comfort those who need it; bring us all peace in our hearts and our land. Lord, protect our citizens and those who fight to defend us. I pray, Lord, that people stay passionate about their beliefs, but do not turn their passion into anger and hatred. I pray that everyone have hope and faith in the future, no matter their current feelings. That we reunite our communities, states, and country as a whole. That a feeling of safety for those who are missing it is restored. That our country does not fall into more turmoil, as people feel it will. I pray, Lord, that Your light shines down on us all, to remind us who is really in control. Lord, hear this prayer.
Amen.
