4 Powerful Worship Songs You Need To Ease Your Anxious Heart
Ben White

Ever since starting college, I have rediscovered my passion for worship music. I grew up with a background in music and singing, so as long as I can remember, worship has been my favorite part of church services/church camps.

I have always loved the power of worship. How a group of strangers can become one -- singing and praising as one. Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three are fathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

Regardless of whether you are worshipping in a large group or quietly in your dorm, God is always there.

Life is stressful and we often deal with our worries, anxiety, and doubts alone. The next time you are in need of a de-stressor, answers to whatever situation you are facing, or peace of mind, give these songs a listen.

1. "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" by Hillsong United

"Oceans" is a classic for so many reasons. This song is not only peaceful and truthful, but it also holds the answers for when you are feeling alone.

Entering college can be a difficult time for anyone -- regardless of your faith. You are surrounded by many diverse people and opinions; and often, those opinions disagree with your own. This song reminds me that a path in faith is never an easy one.

The lyrics "Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders, let me walk among the water wherever you may call me" have to be my favorite. Putting your faith in Jesus means letting go of the things you cannot control and putting every ounce of your trust into Him and His plan.

2. "You Alone" by Lauren Daigle

"And when my heart and strength have failed me my God you won't, Your name is mighty I will trust in You alone".

"You Alone" is power when you need it most. We often think we can handle our battles and struggles on our own, and when things don't turn out how we anticipated, we feel the disappointment.

This song reminds you to put your own understandings aside and put your trust in Him.

3. "Even If" by Mercy Me

"But God when you chose to leave mountains unmovable, give me the strength to be able to sing it is well with my soul"

I stumbled across this song on my drive to work one day, and it spoke to me. This song speaks to the deep truth of having a relationship with Jesus.

Some people believe that God is a "magic prayer box" who "will move every mountain we ask Him to;" however, we know that is not the case. God will test your faith, and things will not always turn out as we hope. But we have to have faith that there is a reason. And to praise Him even when the mountains do not move.

4. "One Thing Remains" by Kristian Stanfill

This song holds a special place in my heart as it is my all-time favorite worship song.

"In death, in life, I'm confident and covered by the power of Your great love"

The flow and growth this song holds are astonishing. The lyrics are truly so powerful and hit home.

Give this song a listen... I promise you won't regret it.

The next time you are overcome with daily stress, anxiety, and doubt, crank these songs up and open your heart. You will not be disappointed, and you will feel 100 times better.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
