The Power Of Prayer

Never lose faith in the power of a prayer

The Power Of Prayer

There have been several times at church where everyone will bow their heads to pray and there will be an overwhelming joy that is brought to me. It’s like you can feel God’s presence in the air and there is nothing more beautiful than that. It is breathtaking and overwhelming and amazing and graceful all at the same time. This moment is nearly indescribable but I think that the beauty of this moment comes from what is commonly known as ‘the power of prayer’.

There are many people, those who believe and don’t believe, that sometimes can often feel that God doesn’t hear their prayers, or isn’t paying attention to them. A lot of people don’t understand even the purpose of praying because people might think God can’t help them or won’t. It breaks my heart to hear people become discouraged and start to lose faith in the power of prayer.

I want to let everyone know how actually powerful praying can be. And it can be powerful in so many different ways. You can talk to God about anything. Even things that you can’t tell anyone else, you can tell Him. Even if He is the only one you are ever able to talk to about some things, that’s okay. God wants to hear your struggles and doubts and worries and accomplishments. He wants you to be able to talk to Him about them. And I can promise you that you will feels so much better being able to talk about those things at all.

And sometimes you may pray to Him searching for answers or insight and He will respond. Maybe sometimes not in the way you were hoping for or not obvious, but He will. And if He doesn’t, it is because He meant to not respond. God has a plan for you and sometimes unanswered prayers are one of the greatest gifts. Because sometimes you may think you know what’s best for you but God may have other plans. So just pray that God helps you through whatever situation you’re going through and trust that he will help you. Praying about something can make a huge difference and talking to God about whatever you’re going through will help you and help to build your relationship with him.

Trust in God and your prayers to him. Stop and talk to him when you get the chance and need someone to talk to. He loves you and needs you as much as you need Him. Prayers can be so powerful because God can do amazing things. Give him the chance to be a part of your life and prove to you that He can change it. Don’t lose faith in the power of a simple prayer.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
