The title of this article may seem out of the ordinary to the average person, but to all the broskis who understand, power moves are a matter of importance. To help out the uninformed, power moves are a complete game changer or something that can alter a situation completely to produce a different or pursued outcome. A maneuver is just a slight fix or change of plans that you make happen. Most tend to confuse the two or say that they're the same thing. It's not as simple as people think it is.
The potential for a power move is only there for certain people. In order to have such potential you have to have a certain set of skills like a clutch factor, confidence, and finesse. Each skill is crucial to being able to perform the power move. Your confidence has to be like Ray Allen when he took that game tying three-pointer in game six that led the Miami Heat to win in overtime and then clinch game seven for the National title. You have to be 100% sure in yourself at the time of the situation, and that's something not found in most people.
One's clutch factor as well has to be present. In the occurrence of an intense situation one must be able to get ahold of it and keep his "eyes on the prize". They essentially have to have the eye of the tiger, or eagle's eye as some would say it. Being clutch is just something that sets up the situation and is beneficial. For example, if you come from school after a long semester and your mom makes your bed, cleans the house, and prepares dinner, that's clutch. She has helped your situation and is setting you up for a great break. If you found an extra ten bucks in your pocket that is so clutch because now you're able to spend some more and still go and shop.
Having finesse compliments having confidence and being clutch. Finesse is a style thing but it perfects the power move. Being able to finesse allows the power move to be smooth and consistent all the way through. In order to be fully effective, the power move must be as stable and dynamic as possible. Essentially if you get mad cred for the move you just pulled, you have finesse. If people consider you chill during a very intense time, you have finesse. If you can make moves in general, you have finesse.
Maneuvers don't really require any special skill or any certain ability. It's not hard to just think differently or on the spot, but it is hard to have confidence, a clutch factor, and finesse. All skills are acquirable over time, but they can't be pushed for. If you're a bro you know about how crucial power moves are. If you're stuck on making maneuvers then you're just jv, leave it to the varsity guys to show you how it's done.
