What A Roll of Toilet Paper Taught Me About God!

Potty Problems

Happy Monday!

I have a brief story of motivation for you guys,

While in the bathroom at church on Sunday (sorry if this is “TMI” lol) I saw the toilet-paper was turned backwards on the holder which absolutely irritates my last nerve. As I flipped up the holder to turn the toilet paper the right way God spoke to me…

He stated…

“You see how easily you fixed that small problem, how easy it was for you to ‘turn it around’? This is what I do with your problems, this is how easy it is for me to fix your situations. I do not have to question or struggle to figure out anything, I AM the solution. My word states ‘And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?’ (Matthew 6:30). And just like that toliet-paper roll whenever you are going in the wrong direction, I will turn you around to the correct path.”

And as always, it hit me…

Sometimes in our walk with Christ, we only seek “surface level saving” we only allow God to graze the surface of our problems or better yet our lives! Allowing HIM to only remove the weed at the surface but not dig deep enough to destroy the root of the problem. Seeking HIM only when we run out of options instead of making HIM priority, numero uno. Failing to realize that the solution already lies in front of us, and it is HIM.

I say all of this to say, whatever you are fighting yourself with this week, this month, this year etc. Allow God to flip your problems just as easily and as quick as I flipped that toilet-paper roll. Allow HIM to do all of your dirty work and always allow HIM to be your supply.

This is easier said than done, I. KNOW. THIS. All I am asking you to do is say yes. One simple yes to God can change your life in ways you never knew were possible. Allow HIM to be the Father HE is desiring to be in your life, and as the loving Father HE is, HE will continue to guide you along the way.

I dare you to meditate on this scripture this week,

Romans 12:2

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

Begin, to allow God to change you piece by piece, bit by bit. Seek HIS will for your life and begin to KNOW that HE is your God. And when you KNOW that you are HIS child you will realize there will never be anything that you have to stress over again.

You are covered. You are healed and honey, you are saved.

I love you guys so much!!

If you would like to submit any prayer requests, ask any questions, etc, I am readily available to you! Contact me at dianiellison@gmail.com

Enjoy your already amazing week!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
