9 Posts We Wish Would Stop Showing Up on Our Feeds

In This Article:

The list of annoying posts that show up on your feed could probably go on forever, but here are some of the by far most common ones that make you roll your eyes and consider deleting your social media once and for all.

1. Another photo of someone's dog doing nothing.

We get it, you have a dog. Yes, he's cute and yes, we know you love him, but after the fifth photo of him lying on the couch, enough is enough

2. Your friend's daily photo of their baby.

You can only comment variations of "How cute!" so many times. Eventually it gets a little difficult to pretend another photo of your friend's baby sticking their tongue out is the most adorable thing you've ever seen.

3. Yet another snapchat of your roommate's OOTD.

It's about time people stop thinking everyone is so keenly interested in what they chose to put on this morning. Most of us put minimal effort into going to class and could go without another mirror selfie of you admiring your wardrobe.

4. Any Finsta account

Just when you thought social media couldn't get any more centered around self-absorption, Finstas became a thing. The fact that so many people genuinely believe that other people need daily updates on their very ordinary lives is mind boggling. There's no need for the equivalent of a diary entry to be shared with virtually everyone you know.

5. A polaroid with bad lighting and an artsy caption.

Everyone follows that one girl who spends her weekends at music festivals and always seems to pick the photo that makes her look most like a fun-loving hippie born in the wrong decade.

6. The blurriest photo they could find.

Somehow posting blurry photos from a night out with friends has become a trend. It seems like people don't realize the rest of us realize you're simply trying to prove just how drunk you were last night.

7. Obligatory birthday posts.

There are plenty of ways to show your friends you love them on their birthday like telling them that in person. The rest of your hundreds of followers don't need to be a part of the celebration, nor do they want to be included.

8. The guy who went to your high school who loves to post "deep" tweets.

To say it's narcissistic to think every thought you have ought to be shared with the rest of us is an understatement, so don't be surprised that you're so-called profound tweet on the origins of the universe doesn't go viral.

9. Snap stories of heavy drinking.

It's no secret social media is made for bragging, but these get to be a bit excessive. Whether you're trying to prove to your Snapchat friends that you're popular or let everyone know that you do indeed drink alcohol, these posts may be the least subtle effort of trying to appear cool out there. There's no harm in having some fun but videos of you and your college buddies chugging vodka from the bottle isn't something your followers care to see.

You may not agree with all the posts listed, and may in fact be guilty of posting more than one, but it's safe to say we can all agree that some people ought to spend a little extra time considering if what they're posting is really all that interesting.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
