Post-Week Seven Top 25 Rankings
SB Nation

Alabama showed its’ dominance, Ohio State and Clemson survived close games, and West Virginia turned heads in a surprising road blowout win. After all that has happened in week seven, how does the college football landscape look? Here is my updated top 25 rankings, compared to the AP Poll.

  1. Alabama
  2. Ohio State
  3. Michigan
  4. Clemson
  5. Washington
  6. Texas A&M
  7. Louisville
  8. Nebraska
  9. Baylor
  10. West Virginia
  11. Houston
  12. Wisconsin
  13. Boise State
  14. Florida State
  15. Utah
  16. Western Michigan
  17. Tennessee
  18. Arkansas
  19. Florida
  20. Oklahoma
  21. Auburn
  22. North Carolina
  23. Navy
  24. Colorado
  25. Miami

There were not a lot of jumps from last week’s poll and this week’s poll, as Western Michigan (+4) and Arkansas (+4) climbed the highest. Miami (-9) and Tennessee (-6) dropped the most among teams that stayed in my top 25. North Carolina and Colorado jumped back into the top 25, while Virginia Tech and Ole Miss fell out.

My top 9 matches the AP top 9. I have West Virginia (#12 AP) at #10, while the AP has Wisconsin (#12, #10) followed by Houston (#11, #11 AP); I feel that WVU’s dominant win in Lubbock was much more impressive than Houston’s near-loss vs Tulsa, and Wisconsin did lose, despite it being by only 7 to Ohio State. Boise State (#13, #14 AP) and Florida State (#14, #13 AP) are flipped; at this point in the season, Boise is undefeated and the Seminoles have two losses. Utah (#15, #19 AP) sneaks into the top 15.

Western Michigan (#16, #20) continues to fly under the radar with a fantastic coach – PJ Fleck – at the helm. Tennessee (#17, #18 AP) is trending down while Arkansas (#18, #17 AP) is trending up. I feel that Florida (#19, #15 AP) is still slightly overrated (SEC bias), but they continue to improve on the season. Similarly, Oklahoma (#20, #16 AP) seems a little high in the AP; however, the Sooners have gotten past their rough start and earned a big win vs Kansas State. Auburn (#21, #21 AP), North Carolina (#22, #22 AP), Navy (#23, #24 AP), Colorado (#24, NR AP) and Miami (#25, NR AP) round out the top 25. The AP continues to prop up the SEC, keeping a 3-3 Ole Miss team in their rankings (#23), as well as sliding in LSU (#25).

Do you agree with my rankings? While you digest it, take a look at the top games in week eight:

Wisconsin @ Iowa – 11:00 AM on ESPN

TCU @ West Virginia – 2:30 PM on ABC

Texas A&M @ Alabama – 2:30 PM on CBS

Arkansas @ Auburn – 5:00 PM on ESPN

Ohio State @ Penn State – 7:00 PM on ABC

Ole Miss @ LSU – 8:00 PM on ESPN

an image of taylor swift standing center stage surrounded by her backup dancers in elegant peacock esque outfits with a backdrop of clouds and a box rising above the stage the image captures the vibrant aesthetics and energy of her performance during the lover era of her eras tour

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
