Many may think I am cliche because of my love and obsession for quotes. They fill my room, twitter and my mind. However, they all share the same quality: they're positive. Positive words will give you a changed perspective and a positive outlook on life. Here are five quotes I remind myself of every day:

1. "Owning our stories and loving ourselves is the bravest thing we will ever do." - Brenne Brown

Loving yourself is one of the most complex and difficult ideas to practice and accomplish. Positivity will be more present when you start to love yourself and encourage yourself to stay strong through the process of life. In order to do this, we have to own our story by owning and loving every aspect of our lives that has happened and is yet to come. Show the world that you are brave enough to handle it!

2. "Everyday may not be good, but there is something good in every day." - Unknown

Let's face it, we all have bad days every now and then—and some more than others. Don't let one bad day drag you into a slump of negativity. Maybe your dog died, or maybe you failed a test. But you could have found a dollar on the ground or received a free coffee. When my family sits down at the dinner table we do "peaks and pits." You are allowed to say one negative piece to your day (pit) and as many positive aspects as you want (peak). This allows us all to help each other stay positive and find the good in every day!

3. "Happiness is letting go of what you think you're life is supposed to look like and celebrating it for everything that it is." - Mandy Hale

We all have a dream life that we base our daily decisions off of in hopes of achieving. This dream life is ruled by unattainable expectations that lead us to disappointment when they are not reached. We need to embrace the triumphs and accomplishments we do have and we will learn what true happiness really is. Don't let impossible expectations hold you back from living your life.

4. "Life is tough my darling, but so are you." - Stephanie Bennett-Henry

Let's be honest, life really sucks sometimes. It is unexpected, complicated and frustrating. But we are all strong enough to handle it. God only gives you challenges you can handle, so face them with confidence and learn from them. The battles we face, shape our character and lives for the better so embrace the struggle because you are tough enough.

5. "Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you." - Dr. Suess

This is my all time favorite quote. We are all different and unique. If everyone was the same, this world would be a very boring place to live in. Embrace your humor, character, intelligence, creativity and integrity. Stop focusing on being like someone else or being better than someone else and be the best version of yourself every day. No one can live your life better than you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
