It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day busyness and trivialness of certain things that won’t matter in a month.
Whenever I get stressed, I like to just think of the bigger picture, and if my current worry is even relevant to my life. Sometimes it’s the little things that are the little nudge you needed to reach stress city. The other day, a girl that I didn’t even know said a rude comment to me, and I was annoyed that the girl thought that and had the bad manners to even say it. However, then I thought more and if the girl talks so inappropriately to a stranger, then why does she even matter to me in the slightest?
The answer is that she doesn’t. No relevance is held.
Why focus on those random people who like to say bad things, or disrupt your day in any way for that matter, when we have so much positive to focus on. All of the people that love you an insane amount. Your family and your friends at home and at school. The people that you spend time around, the people who lift your mood, the people who make you laugh even when you're talking about nothing and the best people are the ones that you get excited to talk to.
We all have those friends that make our hearts smile, and have so much love for them. Best friends understand you and the way that you are, just as you understand them. Now think about how they are to you, how funny, adventurous, real, kind-hearted and overall, how great they are.
Now, they probably don’t see themselves as that great person that you see them. Since you're one of their best friends, you know that is ridiculous and how they should easily see how amazing they are. It is probably the same way that they think of you. So, if your best friend thinks so highly of you, why can’t you do the same? Why can’t you see how great you are?
That’s probably why you're best friends.
So many people, even if they aren’t good at expressing it, but they show it, love you tremendously. There is so much love in the world and for you, and life is too short to not remember that every day. Whoever you are, just know that you are loved. I know it’s cheesy and I am not a mushy person, but having a love-filled life is not overrated.
Love is life, life is love.
It comes in all forms; for your family, your friends, your passion. Gosh, that was cheesy. Keep that in mind, but most of all, believe it, which I will admit is the hardest part.
I promise that it will make every day that much better.
