As we're entering March, most of us are still in that January/February lull and sluggish mindset. Spring and Spring break are so close we can taste it, but yet so far away. Here are 8 positive sayings to help get you through the week.

1. "Optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive, good things and good people will be drawn to you." -Mary Lou Retton

Sometimes you need to make sure you're radiating the positivity you want to receive in your life. People see you happy, they will want to join in.

2. "Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them." -Marcus Aurelius

We forget that our world recently filled with sadness is still filled with beauty. Whether it's looking at the stars or a walk in nature, the world has so much beauty to offer us.

3. "Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow." -Hellen Keller

If you keep your head up and positivity level up, you won't focus on the stress or sad things in life, like Keller says, look at the positive like the sunshine, it drowns out the shadows.

4. "Delete the negative; accentuate the positive!" -Donna Karan

If you have negative thoughts, delete them. It's as simple as that. You can't have a negative mindset if you want to achieve your goals in life.

5. I have the ability to build myself up or break myself down. I stay positive. Strength comes from within." -Hayley Williams

You are the only one who can build yourself up, and find the inner strength to do so. Staying positive will make you feel better, inside and out.

6. "In every day, there are 1,440 minutes. That means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact." -Les Brown

Every minute of our lives is precious, and how we spend them makes an impact. If we let opportunities slip away because we thought negatively about them, it's a waste of our time.

7. "Your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. Constantly color your picture gray, and your picture will always be bleak. Try adding some bright colors to the picture by including humor, and your picture begins to lighten up." -Allen Klein

Life needs some humor and bright colors, so don't always be bleak and color in gray. Try to look at every situation with a bit of color.

8. "The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - it's all that matters." -Audrey Hepburn

At the end of the day, your happiness is most important. So keep smiling, and try to be positive in the hardest of times.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
