Insight on having a positive attitude.

There are many situations in life that can be looked at with a negative mindset; however, it is also arguable that there are equally as many, if not more, situations that can be looked at with a positive mindset. I have found that the difference between a good day and a bad day is entirely dependent upon how you view the situations you are faced with.

This idea is somewhat cliché, but the following quotes truly sum up what I am trying to convey;

Life is 1% what happens to you and 99% how you respond to what happens to you

Happy people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything

Today is a good day to have a good day

Obviously there are situations that are challenging to tackle when it comes to being positive, but the way you view every situation you are faced with is crucial. In other words, the main problem in any situation or predicament could very well be your attitude about it. For instance, let's say you lose one of your most prized possessions. Now you can either be upset about the missing item and dwell in the negativity of its absence, or you can accept the possibility that you are better off without whatever it is that was lost and move on. In both cases, you are still without the item, but the second mindset is going to leave you with a more positive outlook.

Negativity only builds upon itself and creates an unstable foundation. Life can certainly be as negative as you make it, which is dangerous in that negative thoughts become easier and easier to dwell on. This contributes to an overall domino effect of despair.

Now let us consider why positive attitudes are the best way to go about everyday life. This idea of a positive outlook does not necessarily have the snowball affect, but in the long run, it does make a significant difference. A positive attitude generally leads to an increased chance of happiness and contentment. A person that is content with their surroundings and situations is more likely to spread this newfound happiness to those around them. At this point, it should be easy to see that the chain reaction of a positive attitude is something that could genuinely make a difference in the way everyone goes about their lives.

Basically, life is as good as you allow it to be, so go out there and look at everything with a refreshed perspective of positivity!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
