Think about the songs that you hear on the radio or you listen to on Spotify. It is almost guaranteed that the song is talking about either sex, drugs or love. However, have you also noticed that they also sound the same?

That is because almost every pop song uses the same chord progression. It's called a I- IV- V-VI or a one, four, five, six chord progression. That basically means in key of the song, you hear the first note, fourth note, fifth note and sixth note in that key. A group called the Axis of Awesome did a medley of all the pop songs with this chord progressions.

Some of the songs you will recognize

1. Don't Stop Believing- Journey

2. Where is the Love?- Black Eyed Peas

3. You're Beautiful- James Blunt

4. Take on Me- A-ha

5. Let it Go- Frozen

6. Demons- Imagine Dragons

7. She Will Be Loved- Maroon 5

8. Someone Like You- Adele

9. When I Come Around- Green Day

10. Jar of Hearts- Christina Perri

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."
