Philanthropy season can be frustrating in college. You want to do it all, and it's all for a good cause, but let's face it: you're not made of money. Is it even possible to help all of these causes without breaking the bank?
Turns out, there is a way to make a big difference, without spending any money. Or even really donating that much of your time.
Throughout the month of March, Alpha Delta Pi is collecting pop tabs to support the Ronald McDonald House. So what does that mean, and how do they actually help?
Pop tabs are those little things on the top of your cans, and saving them can make all of the difference in the world. Ronald McDonald House Charities is an organization that provides housing to families whose children are patients at the UVA Hospital, and they have a great relationship with Gerdau recycling center, which gives them money in exchange for the pop tabs. So basically, collecting those tiny pop tabs can bring thousands of dollars to a really great organization.
Plus, let's be honest, it's a pretty good excuse to drink some more, um, soda. And maybe anything else that comes in cans. I mean, it's for the kids, right?
