Who we are, and what we are a product of.

What defines me?
Andrea Posada Escobar

The subliminal line between the conscious and the unconscious-

The division between personal perspective and worldly perception.

Who am I?

The delicate interworking's which define an individual and isolate them from the transparencies of modern philosophy.

The gray haze of expectancy looming pervasively-

What defines me?

I am the consequence of creativity and intellectuality molded by the presence of pop culture.

What I become and what I accomplish is shielded by the world’s conscious effort for limitation.

Full potentiality is mustered when the unconscious becomes the cornerstone of spontaneity and reaction.

Only then will one truly be original.

In a culture where finding yourself is marketed as eminently pivotal for true individualism, how do we distinguish between who we are and what we are a product of? The millennial generation cries out in celebratory acknowledgment to those who dare to be different. Freedom revels in identity expression through art, music, pop culture and fashion as outlets for the individual to well, be themselves. Individualism, quirkiness and oddity are no longer haphazardly disregarded as variable outliers. Rather, these cultural outsiders are undoubtedly praised.

Many have presumed uniqueness is becoming a fad. However, what is uniqueness if everyone is seemingly unique? Individuality and authenticity are not measurable by man-made artifacts. Moreover, individualism is not an act viable by choice but your true being- your presence, actuality and existence. Marketed cultural expectation will never define an individual. Uniqueness and creativity are not denotations of character by secularist perspective. Finding yourself and becoming who you were meant to be in vocation is not mediated by cultural byproducts.

In a culture where finding yourself is defined by factors which may expire, how do we distinguish between who we are and what we have become a product of? The answer is justifiably simple, we must not place personal value and identity in cultural progression and idealism. Reaching true individual potential is subliminally a rejection of societal expectation and value. Boundless-

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.

College is a crazy, beautiful, amazing whirlwind. It is highly popularized in television and movies, but not necessarily in the most accurate way. Yes, there's frats, dingy dorms, raging house parties—but there's also a lot that people fail to mention.

1. If you thought that you knew how to study, you're wrong.

All of your classes aren't taught every day, so professors aren't on your case constantly about reading and memorizing material. Once you get back that "questionable" first exam grade, you'll kick it into high gear and figure out what works for you
