How many times have you honestly judged the people around you?
Truthfully, I think it's instinctive. Do you know what the first thing people notice about others? Their shoes... Weird.
Do you know how quickly a first impression is made upon meeting someone? According to some psychologists, all it takes is a tenth of a second to form an impression on a stranger.
Judgement is awful. Our generation is notorious for judging people before they get to know them. Considering the first thing we notice is their shoes, uh yeah, that's pretty awful??

I will be the FIRST to admit that I judge a lot. I have no room to do it, and truthfully when you find out things about the person you were judging, you feel like a royal A-hole.An example; I was at the grocery store and the I asked the checker to split the total onto two different debit cards. They said they would, but they didn't do anything that seemed to be what the other checkers did, so I double checked twice before I swiped the card. IT DIDN'T WORK and I was soooooooo mad. I called the kid an idiot and was really mean to them (in my head) come to find out they are slightly autistic.

To say the least, I felt awful, and still do.The other thing about judgment is that we never put ourselves into the situation of other people. We can sit around and talk crap all we want, but do we REALLY have room to?
Lets say you're judging someone, like we all do, BUT put yourself INTO their situation. How do you feel if you're them? Do you see all the things you've already accomplished in life and see where you're going, even if you're slightly behind some of the other people that are the same age?
It is so easy to be mean and judgmental, and truthfully, I think that's where a lot of the anxiety that people have today comes from. They're afraid of doing anything because they fear that someone is going to be silently laughing at them or thinking they're not smart or good enough.
Just remember, "it's easy to judge people, but it's more difficult to understand. Understanding requires compassion and patience, and a willingness to believe that good hearts choose poor methods. Through judging, we separate. Through understanding, we grow. " -Doe Zantamata
