Everyone seems to have a love-hate relationship with politics. Either you consume every piece of political literature that comes your way, or you run away at the sound of the word "election." Either way, politics is so important to, well, everything.
Everything you encounter and do on any given day will most likely have some type of politics wrapped up in it. From how much tax is on that morning cup of coffee to how much alcohol you can (or cannot) consume before getting behind the wheel is decided by our government. Thus, it completely baffles me when people say they "aren't into politics."
How can you not be into something that is so important and fundamental to our way of life? Without government, this country would be reduced to crime, terrorism, and most likely famine and disease. Therefore, it is more than essential to pay attention to what goes on in the political sphere. I promise it isn't just a bunch of old white men spewing jargon into a camera, though it sometimes can be.
Therefore, starting next week, I want to start giving a weekly summary of this weeks' political events, written (somewhat) coherently and understandably, for the average, non-politics lover.
Disclaimer: This is in no way going to be all of the political news of the week. There's no way I have the mental capacity to consume everything that happens in Washington, D.C. and around the country. These are just a couple of things I noted in the news, that I think are pretty important and will help to point out the major points and even summarize some of the concepts.
