Please Take Your Politics off my Newsfeed

In all honesty, I don't care who you're voting for

It's not that I don't think everyone has a right to opinion. I just don't give two sh*ts what your opinion is.

I always hate when politics invade my Newsfeed. This year seems worse than ever. Every time I get on any social media all I seem to see is an article, post, or picture of something related to the election. At this point, most people have made up their mind quite decisively as to who they are voting for. You can name call and pitch as many fits and rants as you want, but here is the thing it isn't going to change anything.

I am one of those people who knows who I will be voting for come November. I came to that decision on my own and am not sharing. Here is the thing, my choice and vote are my opinion. I don't feel the need to throw my thoughts in your face. Instead I stick with the motto: "Good for you; not for me". You decision is your decision. Politics and many other hot-button topics are all about ideology. Ideology by definition is things that are close to your heart that are unlikely to change. So stop changing to change mine.

Sharing articles can be an important part of social media, and I don't think their is anything wrong with sharing your voice. Don't get mad at me though if I unfollow or unfriend you because you got on my last nerve by preaching your beliefs. Beliefs and passion are importnat in this world but is Facebook really the best place for that.

Facebook to me isn't about changing this life-changing or earth-shattering writing pieces. It's more about goofy listicles and cute puppy videos. So with that let's keep Facebook fun!

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
