In recent times, this country has been severely divided in terms of political views. In all honesty, The country has always been divided in political believes but in the recent election and in recent political votes, legislation's, situations and many more instances, the United States of America has found itself in quite a pickle. And personally, I really don't think it's the politics that's the problem.

After Donald Trump won the 2016 election politics became a subject and a topic that was most likely the most frequently discussed with anger. Now, it's very common for politics to be considered a taboo topic. Maybe come on I'm sure you've all heard of the saying “no politics at the dinner table" or the concept of not talking about politics over holidays or family events. That is just something that a lot of us were very used to however, in recent times, I've been just ridiculously disgusted at the way this country has handled discussing politics.

I know that when an article discusses politics it usually is assumed that there is a bias within the article, but this is not why I am writing this article. I am writing this article to address the fact that this country can't have a conversation anymore with anyone that thinks even the slightest bit different than anyone else. It is just scary that we have become such a nation obsessed with total control and total dominance over specific views that we would result in violence if we don't get our way. Now, even though I gave my little disclaimer above I want to be clear. In fact, I want to be crystal clear. Democrats and Republicans are guilty of doing this. Both of these parties are guilty of thinking lesser about the other because of what they believe in and what they stand for. And both parties are guilty of resulting in physical, mental, or emotional violence in order to get total control of a political situation. This is all wrong.

America was built on opposing views. The foundation of our country was a difference of opinion's and a difference of opinion is what makes us so unique, so diverse and so amazing. I really think about what it all went wrong frequently. The entire concept of diversity and unique this comes from different opinions are different beliefs, so where did we as Americans and what did we as the world decide that it's dangerous or wrong to believe something different than the mass majority or the popular minority?

The main point is not everyone is going to agree with you. That's life. People have different opinions and people have different preferences and that's what makes us all individuals. Although we're at a brief pause in our country and people recently aren't understanding that idea, that does not mean that it is not important because it really is. As a nation we have to stop being violent when it comes to differing beliefs are differing opinions. We have to learn to embrace our differences and learn from them. When we are able to do this we are able to form a country that is unstoppable and incredible. We are able to rebuild America.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
