In the United States, there are two kinds of people: the political ones and the ones who just do not care about politics at all. In the past, most people would just stick to their sides. The political ones would choose a politician and back them no matter how wrong they may seem. Even if their politician of choice ends up being completely and indisputably wrong, that person maintains their posture in fear that they will be scrutinized if they switched sides. The ones that choose to not dabble in confusing world of politics usually just sit around and watch the race happen. In 2015 and 2016 the polar politicians managed to redraw the political landscape.

Donald Trump, businessman, has managed to rile up a majority of the hispanic population in the United States to the point that there has been a spike in citizenship applications. “This year's election has struck a chord with immigrants,” said Jeanne Kuang, Contact Reporter for the Chicago Tribune. “Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump may not be the only reason for rising interest in citizenship, but he's a major one.” Many immigrants who have either put off obtaining citizenship or previously have been unable to apply for citizenship have begun to file their paperwork. "We want to become citizens so we can vote against Trump," said Esteban Salgado to Kuang through a Spanish interpreter.

On top of this never before seen spurt in citizenship applications, Trump has managed to draw even more attention towards himself by hiding his tax rate. Trump believes that it is not in the people’s right to see his tax papers “before people vote in November.” He has agreed to release his tax returns after an audit has been completed. "It's none of your business. You'll see it when it's released,” said Trump.

Bernie Sanders has acquired a new form of protest from his haters in the form of a “DIY glow stick recipe.” The recipe is found on a meme that has been spread around on social media sites. The recipe calls for two chemicals (Chlorine and Isopropyl Alcohol). When the two are mixed the reaction creates Chlorine gas and when this reaction occurs inside of a closed container (like a water bottle) the outcome can be deadly. "By mixing the ingredients – including chlorine tablets and rubbing alcohol – in a plastic bottle, you create an explosive device," said Anne Kelly and Lydia Williams, RTV6. "The Wayne Township hazmat team confirmed that to RTV6."

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INFURY OR DEATH.

Chlorine gas is highly toxic and can cause death, so do not try this at home.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), inhaling Chlorine gas (the product of the meme above) can cause: Blurred vision, burning pain and blisters on skin, coughing, difficulty breathing, nausea, wheezing, and pulmonary edema (fluid in lungs).

The source of the meme has not been identified.

AGAIN, DO NOT TRY TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION ON THE PICTURE ABOVE, MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
