Political Debate Or Middle School Drama

The fate of this country lies in the hands of people who care more about where their opponent has been than where this country is going.

Political Debate Or Middle School Drama

If you have followed the presidential race in the slightest, then you would have seen that we have no idea what these candidates plan to do once they get in office, other than possibly have a rumor war with other countries and political people.

Donald Trump's campaign slogan is "Make America Great Again", however during his campaign the things he wishes to fix were never set right in the first place; you can not make it great again if you do not have examples of when it was great to begin with. Hillary Clinton's campaign slogan is "Stronger Together", yet her strategy for beating Trump is tearing him down to ensure no one sees them as equals; as well as if she believes we would be stronger together then why is she keeping things from us. The two candidates only gives us an overview of what they say they plan to achieve, rather than the ways they will go about achieving them. Trump and Hillary are speaking words without any meanings behind them. They are both at the point where they will say everything and anything they think will get them just one more vote. However, by doing so they are making themselves look like contradicting contemptible people.

Our presidential debates and race has not been what the candidates can do for our country but what they have individually done in their past. Watching the debates between Hillary and Trump is like watching a middle school fight between two girls at the lunch table. A large part of the debate is them debating which one has an unacceptable track record; still they do not actually debate who is better for the job and how, but who is the worst for the job.

Watching the presidential race and debates has become "The biggest reality TV show" as one news anchor quoted this morning. The fate of our country is in the hands of people who make a better drama series than the people who are actually being paid to make up drama for a living. Hillary and Trump avoid the stated questions asked, and answer only what they wish to talk about. The majority of the time they are both too busy pointing fingers with the he said she said, that they again never reach the actual points of these debates. Instead they continue to throw around irrelevant banter of who is the worst human being and why. If you so bravely decide to watch these debates unfold, I ask you to pay attention to the responses of the candidates. Write down the question the prompters ask and see if the responses from either candidate ever answers the actual question.

The fate of this country lies in the hands of people who care more about where their opponent has been than where this country is going. Our country is in need of a someone to lead us through the problems we are a facing and into a better future. Yet, our candidates are more concerned about the past and dragging it up again to make the other relive it. We need a voice of the future, not a reminder of the past.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant

There's always chaos in the restaurant business.

10 Signs You Work In A Restaurant
Brisanis

Working in the restaurant industry is possibly the most fundamentally challenging occupation I have ever experienced when it comes to hospitality and customer service. When you go to a five-star restaurant you expect the time of your life, a two hour getaway, a walk through another time period (rustic Italy, France, Spain, etc), or simply a honeymoon undergo. What you don't see are the behind the scenes scut work: carrying trays, polishing glassware and silverware, kitchen chaos, the list is endless. Now, I'm not saying being a host, server, or bartender is the worst thing in the whole wide world, there are definitely worse things. But the fact of the matter is that it isn't always sunshine and rainbows. In the two years that I have spent in restaurant and customer service, I have spoken my share of expletives, yelled at kitchen staff, and dealt with not-so-happy guests. It isn't easy to keep a bright and shiny smile on your face when all you want to do is choke every person who walks near you. Anyone who has spent even two weeks working in a restaurant understands the rigor and stress that comes with it. Restaurant culture is a tiny world in and of itself that operates on its own principles and creates its own society. It even has its own language. The sayings "runner", "corner", and "on a bus" wouldn't make sense to anyone otherwise. My mother and I both work in a restaurant and the best advice I can give someone going out to eat is to treat us like people. Yes...believe it or not we are people, people. Say "please" and "thank you", or stack your cleared plates before a busser gets to the table. Trust me, the gesture goes a lot farther than you may think.

So, if you work in a restaurant, you can relate with the following points. If not, check out how the brain of a restaurant service (or any customer service) worker actually works. See if you can identify any crazy weird habits your friends have a tendency to partake in.

One of the scariest things we will ever face in our life is going to college. Many of us move away to a new town, join new organizations, and make new friends. We are expected to study, have a social life, relationships, maybe work, and be healthy. If you are in high school, here are some things that you can learn from before you get to college. If you have already been through your freshman year of college, hopefully you can relate to the things I have learned in college.
