Scenario: You have been offered nasty food at the party.
Problem: You do not want to seem rude at the party.
Question: How do you politely reject the nastiness?
Solution:
1. “I have a bit of a stomach ache.”
Yeah, from looking at this plate of trash you've just shoved in my face.
2. “Oh, thanks, but I had a huge breakfast/lunch/dinner”
Thank you kindly, but I have already had my fill of disgust for today.
3. “I wish I could, but I’m on a diet”
Yes, I have actually cut all foods that look like someone already ate them out of my diet.
4. “I’m allergic/intolerant”
...to your cooking. Yeah, I just got tested."
5. “I’m fasting for religious purposes.”
"I'm from His Holy Church of Eternal Gagging."
If you are in a social gathering where the person has already seen you eating other food with the thing that you are “intolerant to” or “cut out of your diet,” and would like to continue eating it...
7. “I already had some."
"...in my worst nightmares."
Of course, you could just be honest and say this type of dish doesn’t sit with you, or is just something you dislike. But if you don’t want the person to feel slighted at all, then these other ideas are probably your best bet.
