Whether you're a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, loads of people are obsessed with the brand new app, Pokémon Go. You'll be the luckiest player for the upcoming fall semester because Rider is a Pokémon hot spot. There are loads of Pokéstops to gather supplies and even a gym to battle other students!
As a fan of Pokémon Go myself, I have decided to prepare all other Pokémon fans for the upcoming fall semester by giving you all of the locations for each Pokéstop and the gym. I mean, who needs to study when there are so many Pokemon to catch?
But if you're looking for something fun to do after class, here is your guide to a successful Pokémon Go adventure at Rider University:
1. Rider Rock
As an incoming freshman, you'll get to know this iconic Rider tradition, but you can get to know it even more if you want to collect some Pokéballs.
2. Chesterwood
This piece of artwork close to the library is not only nice to look at, but a great place to gather supplies! So check it out on your way to study for class!
3. Dirge
Another sculpture on the Rider campus, located by the Sweigert Business building, is a great place to take a break if you're going from building to building -- so why not gather some Razz Berries to help catch those wild Pokémon?
4. Gazebo by Centennial Lake
I don't know about you, but this is a hot spot for a lot of students on campus. It's a great place to sit down and look out onto our beautiful campus lake. Now, it's a Pokéstop!
5. The Yvonne Theater
The creators must have known that so many students on campus have class by the Yvonne Theater. It's the Fine Arts building and luckily (or unluckily, if you have to climb the stairs to the third floor) is where majority of my classes are this Fall. I'm looking forward to this Pokéstop for sure.
6. Delta Phi Epsilon
Going Greek or Pokémon Hunting? I recommend you do both, but if you happen to stumble upon this purple house, it's a Pokéstop! Perhaps you'll catch a rare unicorn Pokémon while you wait.
7. Gill Memorial Chapel
If you're looking to pray for a Gyarados, head on over to the Chapel. It's the last Pokéstop on campus.
8. The Gym
There's really no name for this one, or there could be, but I couldn't figure it out. There is another piece of art on campus that happens to be the gym. It's located near the library and has been taken over by all three teams so far. Who will take over come September fourth and fifth?
I cannot wait to catch 'em all with my fellow Pokemon fans this fall semester!
