Pokémon Go has made some of us relive our worst middle school nightmares and for those of us trainers still in middle school, potentially causing more problems. Since the inception of the game and everyone joining teams, there has been a large amount of hate and libel between the teams. Valor, Mystic, and Instinct are all very different teams with very different personalities. Team Valor, the type who goes to a pokéstop every 5 minutes. These trainers have an insatiable urge to take all gyms in their area and keep them. These guys and gals will be the first to tell you what team you are on and by the first to start an argument about why the other two teams aren’t as good.
Mystic… what to say about Mystic. They are the band wagon. They have the most followers on reddit and their trainers seem to be the first once to rally to a cause. Mystic trainers, though great in numbers, seem to not always have the most powerful pokémon in my experience. There are a number of gyms around the greater Baltimore area and we keep going back and forth with taking gyms. There are usually about 4 pokémon in the gyms all about 900-1100 combat powered. The trainers seem to be low to mid 20’s level wise which is interesting that their pokemon are that of someone who is level 18 or 19. Overall what Mystic lacks in CP they make up for in numbers.
Finally we have team instinct. The equivalent to the nerds and outcasts in high school. Like in high school and middle school, there are very important roles all students play. These roles help to define character, morals, and roles in society. Valor are the jocks, Mystic are the academics, and instinct are the AV club. The ones who always get picked on and made fun of. They are what hold the world together so the main teams don’t destroy it battling each other. Instinct may well be the only thing keeping this world together.
Let me know what you think of the Pokémon Go cliques and if you would change them at all.
