Pokemon have finally come to life

Did you grow up in the Pokemon era? Do you enjoy hunting? Have you ever wished Pokemon was a real thing? Well, I have an app for you: Pokemon Go.

I'm not sure exactly how well known this app is. I mean I think I heard about it fairly quickly. Regardless, I'm sure there a plenty of people who have not heard of the app, so here's a brief introduction. Basically, you get the app and you open it, create an avatar, and as you move in real life, your avatar moves with you. As you do this, you travel past "Pokemon" and are given the option to capture these Pokemon. As you walk around, you can find Pokestops at various locations, usually churches or other important local buildings. You can also find gyms, where trainers go to meet and fight their Pokemon.

HOW SICK IS THAT?! Seriously though, Pokemon are now literally in the real world with us. Okay not literally, but they might as well be. I mean I need to travel in the real world in order to capture them so I'm going to take that as real. I mean, we went from this:

to this:

Looks pretty real to me, pal. That Squirtle in absolutely on my lawn.

I do have a few things to say about this app, though. My biggest complaint is this: if you're as lazy as I am, you're never going to be able to capture Pokemon. I mean, if I'm not working, I'm sitting at home watching Netflix or something like that. Sometimes I'm with my girlfriend too, but I don't want to weird her out by searching for Pokemon. (sidenote: I just came up with an awesome date idea right there.) There are no Pokemon near my home, and as far as I can tell, the Pokemon don't move, only the trainer does. So if the Pokemon wove and every now and then a Bulbasaur traveled by my house, I'd be a lot happier.

Next, I love the idea behind the gyms and having them be specific locations, but think of just how weird that's going to look. Like if this app blows up, you're going to have cars on cars parked in front of this building in order to battle each other and gain some XP or evolve their Charmander. You'd be chillin' in like a church parking lot making awkward eye contact every now and then when you beat the guy parked down the row from you. I'm not sure how I would fix this, but it kind of sucks. Same goes with the "Pokestops" which are just health centers, I think. Basically, I just want the Pokemon to move around so I can sit still and capture them, and I want to be able to fight trainers and heal my Pokemon without having to travel across town. My laziness is incredible.

Other than that, I love the idea of Pokemon Go. Its so much fun and it is basically a real life Pokemon game. Virtual reality through your phone, in a way. It definitely can be dangerous, though. I heard a story that someone caused a massive car accident because they needed to stop and capture a Pokemon. Don't Pokemon and drive folks. However, I also heard that Pokemon Go lead one woman to find a dead body in the woods. So its doing good too. Also, I have yet to go on the water since this app has come out, so I do not know if water Pokemon exist, butI really want them to. I need a Magikarp in my life.

Overall, great app, fantastic idea, sorry I'm lazy and have complaints, definitely check it out.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
