A fun listicle that Lucy usually writes for her unpaid internship.

If College Majors Were Pokémon

In honor of the release of Detective Pikachu, which was a great movie and I highly recommend everyone to see. I present college majors as pokemon because we all sometimes think how could pokemon survive college. They could probably do better than us to be honest, however, If you ask Psyduck, he would say "Psyduck" with his hands over his head because the thought of college makes his head explode.

Psychology-Psyduck

Like Psyduck, Psychology majors love spa music and to occasionally have their feet rubbed before their heads explode because they deal with a lot of stuff.

Geology-Geodude

media.giphy.com

Geology is about the study of rocks and how they impact the environment. Geology majors are hard-headed like Geodude and love to dig, despite this they are rock hard cool!

Nursing-Chansey

Nursing majors are the kindest people to be around, and they care for others no matter what. Like Chansey, they are dependable, kind-hearted, and incredible.

Physical Education-Machamp

Like Mahchamp, physical education majors are goals when it comes to their workouts because their routines pay off pretty good. However, they are willing to help you set your goals and teach you how to live a healthy, active life.

Environmental Science-Roselia

Like Roselia, environmental science majors don't smell roses all day, they are smart and analyze the environment that they are in. They are strong, free-will and caring, never doubt the Roselias in your life because they will bite.

Criminology-Pikachu

In honor of Detective Pikachu, criminology is taken over by Pikachu because of his amazing detective skills and he likes coffee. Energetic and strong, Pikachu can do anything if they set their minds to it, just like our detectives in the police department.

Oceanography-Magikarp

media.giphy.com

Like Magikarp, oceanography can be seen as a useless major, but it is not because it is the only major to focus on the ocean and the impact on the land. They have a bigger impact than others think and you never know when you will need them.

Geography-Diglett

media.giphy.com

Geography majors are amazing because they analyze the underground and enjoy it! They are some amazing people and knows their way around the globe.

Music-Jigglypuff

media.giphy.com

Music majors are the most adorable people you will ever meet, like Jigglypuff, they are sweet, kind, and they are very talented with their instruments.

Electrical Engineering-Electabuzz

Electrical Engineering is a hard major to study, but like Electabuzz they are up for the challenge!! They are skilled in their work and want to improve the world!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
