Pokémon Go has been out for a few months now, and it seems the dust is starting to settle. Several reports have been cropping up around the internet over the last few weeks stating that there is a significant drop in downloads of the app. Given the fact that the app has been released in most of the world, it’s not surprising that the number of people who have downloaded it probably peaked when their countries first got the app and now that it’s been out, most people have it.
The other variable that reports have been mentioning is the overall decline in traffic the app has been seeing. This is the more concerning feature of the app in that it shows that users are starting to get bored with the app or just don’t care about it anymore. One of the reasons, I suspect, that traffic is going down, is that people are getting frustrated with the experience needed to level up. After level 20 the user needs to get so much experience points that it multiplies exponentially the time needed to increase that level. People are needing to go back to work and pay their cell phone bills from all the Pokémon Go related overage charges. When then next generation of Pokémon comes out it can be expected that the traffic in the app and the financial prices will rise to what they were when the game first came out.
