Poetry On Odyssey: What Do I Remember?

I misremember going to San Diego comic con. My sister and I only made it to one panel about drawing comics.

I misremember getting to meet Shin Lim and Colin Cloud in Vegas. They gave my sister the confidence in her art that she sorely needed.

I misremember my 3rd plane ride. It's the first time that I can actually remember.

I misremember my dog. The feel of her fur on my face when I clung to her as a child.

I misremember when we had a tank full of fish. One of them turned cannibal and ate every single fish before jumping out of the tank.

I misremember my first cat. He hated everyone but my dad and then he had a heart attack while we were on our first cruise.

I misremember when we got our second cat. She was given to us by one of my friends in 7th grade. She's almost 8 years old now.

I misremember my first day of college orientation. I didn't talk much to the people in my group, but no one seemed to want to talk to me anyway.

I misremember my first time watching It. My heart never raced when faced with a clown after somehow.

I misremember playing Jackbox with my friends. We always ended up with lots of funny inside jokes.

I misremember the first thing I wrote that I was truly proud of. It was a class assignment to write a realistic piece of a day in the life of a bird. I wrote about a Northern White-Faced Scops Owl.

I misremember the first time I laid awake all night on the verge of a panic attack. It happens when I start to think about my future.

I misremember the last time I went to Disney World. It was a trip with my high school band and we marched in a parade at the Magic Kingdom. Many band members had to get treated for heat stroke that day.

I misremember watching Stranger Things with my sister. We both decided that the show was amazing, but we hated Mike and Eleven as a couple.

I misremember when I decided to be a creative writing major. My dad told me to be an engineer instead.

I misremember deciding to minor in Simulation, Animation, and gaming. My dad told me to be an engineer instead.

I misremember deciding to double minor in Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising. My dad told me to be an engineer instead.

I misremember when I graduated. I didn't start crying until I saw my sister crying.

I misremember my Cinderella-themed birthday party. Back then I had hope that I would have a happy ending.

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
