It's very easy for people today to see themself in a negative light. Unfortunately, I know this because of the fact that I am one of those people. This is a small poem I wrote about how we may not see what makes us shine to others and that we are beautiful.
You're not ugly
You just don't get to see yourself at your best
You only see the reflection of you
Of how you feel when you're forced to see yourself
You don't see your smile gleam when you talk about your pets
How much you glow when you pull out your guitar
How your mere voice pulls the entire room into a peaceful trance
And the way your eyes twinkle when we joke around or do a silly dance
You're an absolute beauty
And I wish I could give you these eyes to see yourself the way I do
Cause I'd happily go blind
If I could still be with beautiful you
And how you make me feel beautiful too
