Love is blind

Some say its red

But truly it is color blind

I know because I never saw the red flags ahead

I never knew I was drinking poison

Could never see its green hue

Overdosed on the toxins

Sipped them until I turned blue

All I could ever see was my love for you

I couldn't see the warning colors

You clouded my view

They all looked black under your shadow cover

Until one day when you slipped and moved

I got a glimpse of yellow sunshine, and I said goodbye to you
