The Stained Glass Window
A stained glass window sheds its color in the light
Protected by darkness in a deep abyss of night
Within the blue of the sky travels the sun
Light changes, and the colors bleed out one by one
A rainbow so rare, protected by the dark
Yet the sun seeks it out, to meet the mark
Soon the sun slips away, and the light is lost
To reveal one's true colors can come at a cost
The fury of darkness crashes through the glass
In a moment it shatters, crushed by pain's mass
Shards scatter the floor, yet its color remains
No darkness could protect from these lamented pains
Shall I sit all alone to pick up each piece?
Will this be what causes my intense pain to cease?
It still remains beautiful, disproving my fears
Though its beauty remains, on fall my tears
Memories of You
Memories of you
Struggle against the tide
Looking endlessly
For something to cling to
Memories of you
Crack like seaglass
Against the raging waves
Falling to pieces
Memories of you
Can strain no longer
As the waves of my pain
Tug them down
Memories of you
Cease their struggle
And fall, yet gracefully
To the dark abyss below
Memories of you
Rest on the ocean's floor
Among endless grains of sand
Lost to the deep
Yet still, unbroken.
