The sky is clouded tonight,
So she can't see you:
The star she'll always follow,
The one next to the moon.
She still curses the day
She pointed to the sky,
That one there is you, she said,
Now we'll never say goodbye.
She wishes she could change it,
Pick a different star,
One that would stay close to her,
For you were much too far.
And every cloudy day,
She wishes she would have known
She'd have no star to wish to,
No comfort, all alone.
But on the starless nights,
She looks for you 'till dawn,
And she knows that being in a star
Is better than being gone.
So though the sky is clouded,
She sleeps and the night has passed,
For clouds are not forever,
But stars are made to last.
